Caring For Your Furniture

Our range is predominantly crafted using natural fibres, leathers and solid timbers. Unlike synthetic materials these all come with unique characteristics including marks, colours & textures that are not considered flaws but part of the charm of such furniture.

Natural materials can change in appearance with sun or weather exposure and shifts in temperature or humidity. This is particularly important to note for those who live in Central Otago's super dry climate. We always craft our furniture to best mitigate this, but please appreciate leather will come with its own unique marks, may fade and dry in direct sunlight and small cracks or join lines can appear in timber furniture, particularly anything outdoors. This will certainly add to the character of your piece but will not affect its useability or performance and are not considered defects.

Oiling timber furniture (we recommend Golden Care Teak Oils (neutral or clear) and conditioning leather will help maintain your furniture's good looks and protect it from environmental damage. Please don't forget to do patch test in a discrete location to ensure you are happy with any changes in appearance this may result in.
